Questions
are the window for us to Learn, Learn about ourselves, our neighbor and the
world. Most of these learning come from personal reflection, some times the
questions needs leads to an indefinite answer or another frantic question or no
answer at all, all this is geared towards learning, for personal development.
Most questions that are left unanswered and may remain that way are eternal
questions, these questions can generate goose bums on your skin or make your
heart beat faster than usual, or instigate a crisis with your conscience and
for the most part we rather not remember or think about this questions.
We cannot
ignore the influence these questions bring on us, especially when triggered to
memory. We cannot deny the efficacy of pondering over this questions and trying
to answer it, we all bear witness, the power of these questions; WHY? Maybe we are scared that we may get it wrong,
maybe we are scared to give a wrong answer, if this the case, then you
acknowledge that there is an Answer, but we almost always fail to figure it out
and this is more scarier.
One of
these eternal questions is what will you do if you were told you have 24 hours
starting now to live. What would you do? For most us now we will kid ourselves
and say this is not a possible scenario for me. Well this question is real and
nobody is above it, when a group of people were asked, 29% of the group said
they will quickly call and have a big party with all family members, 10% said
they will have great fun, another 10% said they will quickly travel to a place
they have never been before and do crazy stuff, another 10% said will worship
God, others affirm that will eat very well to their full, some said they will
spend their last day reconciling with God and everyone, while 10% assured they
will spend it with loved ones and friends.
Frankly
these answers scared me, more i wondered what my answer would be, I wondered
what went on in their minds when they thought the question, I wondered why they
have to wait until they were told they have one more day, before they do all
these things. Still I wonder how often are we told we have one more day, for
some of you reading this piece, you probably have one day more to live on
planet earth, wont it be great, if we received a fax detailing how life span or
time of death at least. Well now is not a time to wish, its time to ask
ourselves the question, what if you have 1 more day to live, what would you
do???
